The Winslow Crossing Catholic community was begun in June 1972 when Father Francis J. Gramigna was sent to the area to take up a census and serve the needs of the new Winslow Crossing projects.
Mass was, at first, celebrated in homes until September 1972, when Mass was celebrated on weekends in School #2, Winslow Township. In December 1973, the name of the community was changed to Blessed John Neumann Community Center. St. John Neumann was canonized in 1977, and the former community became a parish on June 19, 1977. Father McCall was named pastor in February 1978. In September 1978, the new church was dedicated.
