The parish named Church of St. Maria Goretti in Runnemede, New Jersey, was formed
and the first Mass was celebrated on August 2, 1965. The Church, hall and rectory
were dedicated on November 12, 1967, by the Most Reverend James L. Schad,
Auxiliary Bishop of Camden. The Church is a three-sided property, symbolic of the Trinity.
The first Mass offered in the new Church was a wedding liturgy celebrate on
October 14, 1967, and the first Baptism and reception into the Church was of
Warren Jack Zane on October 17, 1967. Mr. Zane is still a member of the parish.
