ST. STEPHEN SCRIP FAQs
(frequently asked questions)
What is Scrip?
Great Lake Scrip uses the phrase “Scrip is fundraising while you shop”. Simply put
St. Stephen’s receives a percentage of any cards you purchase. We are not asking for you to
spend any more money, just change the way you purchase your everyday needs. Try using
scrip (gift cards) for grocery shopping, CVS, the movies, office supplies, hardware,
bookstores, etc…
How can I purchase Scrip?
Scrip is available both instock
and by special order. Instock
scrip will be sold on
Thursday mornings in the School Advancement Office from 7:45-8:45 a.m., after all weekend
Masses and in the Rectory office during the week. You may also send an order in to school
with your child. It will be filled and returned to you the same day.
Will my scrip expire?
No. Scrip is issued in gift card form, not as gift certificates. There are no stated expiration
dates on the gift cards.
What stores are available through Scrip? We currently carry 18 frequently purchased retailers instock
but there are hundreds of
retailers available for special order. Our order form lists our instock
scrip on the front and
over 60 of the most popular scrip retailers on the back. If you go to the Great Lake Scrip
website www.glscrip.com you may view the entire list of hundreds of retailers available. Order
forms are available in the School Advancement Office as well as on our church website (
www.ststephenspennsauken.com).
What forms of payment are accepted?
We will accept cash or checks if you have an application on file. If you would like to pay by
check simply complete the application and submit it with a copy of your driver’s license. You
may bring it to the scrip table after all Masses, to the Rectory or to the Advancement Office at
the school.
Why should I participate in buying Scrip?
By supporting this program we are supporting St. Stephen School! We are looking to fund the
subsidy the parish owes the school. It is a win/win program benefiting both the school and the
parish. We earned over $1000/month during our slower summer months. Now that school
has started we are looking to at least double that amount!
